Everyone who has seen Borat knows about director Larry Charles. On October 3th, Charles and Lions Gate Entertainment will bring us a new film called Religulous.

This documentary stars American comedian Bill Maher and others. The story revolves around Maher who travels around the globe interviewing people about God and religion. Religulous has something to share with Borat in terms of its style and its likely to attract a huge audience simply because of that.

According to Maher, the title of the film is a portmanteau derived from the words “religion” and “ridiculous,” implying the satirical nature of the documentary that is meant to mock the concept of religion and the problems it brings about.

Maher and director Larry Charles (Borat) will be at the Toronto Film Festival in early September to preview some footage and hold a question and answer session.
