Are you a great fan of animated movies and animation? Do you keep wondering how an animation movie is made? You can make your own animated movies using programs on your computer such as Flash, Adobe After Effects, 3D Studio Max and Maya. In a big studio, it is done in much the same way. Here we discuss some of the important aspects regarding the animation. The first step prior to the development of the animation movie involves story boarding followed by layouts, which is followed by model sheets and then, finally animation.
Storyboard plays the most important role. It tells us about the entire animated movie. It consists of drawings, which are illustrated, in the form of comic strips. They send the story to the layout team, which decides upon the costumes to design and locations that should be used for illustrating purposes. Model sheets consist of all the possible movements and the facial expression that a character can possess during the course of the story. The next step then is to have animation. It helps the director in the visualization of the special effects and directing the above sequences.
After approving the storyboard, the project goes straight into the production stage. The production stage involves texturing, rigging, layout, animation and modelling in a better order. Layout is the stage of making models and characters with the help of blocks of geometry. This layout is the 3D version of the job of the storyboard. When all the stages are followed in the proper order, an animated movie is formed.
