Sensational news! Our favorite Twilight star Kristen Stewart has signed for the biopic drama “The Runaways” which is among the forthcoming movie DVD releases of 2010. Sweet Bella is no longer. She has totally changed into the 70s rock star, Joan Jett.
The nineteen-year-old actress feels very responsible for her new leading role and says it is difficult to play a real person, but she is going to do her best.
This is a story about a female rock quintet of five teenage girls. The film focuses on the rise and fall of the rock group. Nobody could imagine that these young girls could reach such success and be so influential. Lead vocalist and keyboardist Cherie Currie and guitarist/vocalist Joan Jett became rock and roll stars of 70s. The songs “Cherry Bomb,” “Neon Angels,” “Rock n Roll” and “Queens of Noise” enjoyed great popularity at those times. “Cherry Bomb” was featured on the soundtrack for many films. The all-girl band had tours in the US, Japan, Sweden, the UK, Germany and many other countries.
Events take place during 1975 when the band was formed. All the girls were around 16 years-old. But in the hey-day of their glory the lead singer Cherrie Currie gets depressed and decides to leave the group. Joan knows that it is best for Cherie and does not try to stop her.
Joan Jett couldn’t imagine her life without music and made up her mind to stay in the music world. She is still performing.
Although this prodigy all-girl band did have a short life the young girls managed to bring forward new music rules and remain in the hearts of their fans forever.
