Paul Morrisons Sensational Little AshesThe drama film “Little Ashes” is among the latest movie DVD releases. Directed by Paul Morrison, produced by Carlo Dusi, Jonny Persey, Jaume Vilalta and written by Philippa Goslett the movie was released in May 2009. The music of the film is by a famous Spanish composer Miguel Mera.

An English actor and ex-model Robert Pattinson, famous for his Cedric Diggory role in Harry Potter, plays the leading role surrealist Salvador Dali. A Spanish actor Javier Beltran stars as Federico Garcia Lorca, an English actor Matthew McNulty as Luis Buñuel and a Spanish actress Arly Jover as Gala. This European bunch of actors is sure to bring the film success.

The 20th century witnessed the genius of the greatest surrealist artist the world has ever known, Salvador Dali. The film “Little Ashes” depicts the most eccentric and gifted surrealist artist’s personal and love life, and the stormy social activity he was involved in. During the beginning of the 20th century the deeply rooted values of Spain were threatened by the strange influences of the modern world. Dali becomes one of the bright representatives of that ultra-modern world and his unrivalled brilliant imagination shocks not only the cultural but also the social life of the country.

Eighteen-year-old Salvador Dali enters School of Fine Arts in Madrid. Here he meets poet and revolutionist Federico García Lorca and filmmaker Luis Buñuel. Later on this trio becomes the cream of society. The film “Little Ashes” depicts the close relations woven between the surrealist artist and poet Garcia Lorca, the artist’s sexual preference, and the glory that accompanied him during his whole life. It also reveals his great love for Dali’s soulmate and source of inspiration, Gala.

The movie gives us a good opportunity to penetrate deep into the souls of the characters and discover all the challenges and obstacles Dali had to overcome on his artistic path to popularity.
