Talented Oscar winner actor Jamie Foxx, Oscar nominee Robert Downey Jr. and inspirational director Joe Wright (whose previous project was “Atonement”) will reveal to you the true, untold story of musician Nathaniel Ayers in the upcoming American drama movie, “The Soloist.”

“The Soloist” is presented by Dream Works Pictures and Universal Pictures in association with Studio Canal and Participant Media A Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment Production in association with Working Title. The screenplay was written by Susannah Grant and the music by Dario Marianelli. The film is supposed to be released on April 24, 2009.

Prodigy musician, violinist Nathaniel Ayers studied at Julliard School. Two years after studying there he is diagnosed with schizophrenia. Nathaniel Ayers enters a dual life: conflict and harmony, hopelessness and assistance, love and hatred. Consequently he loses everything in this struggle, becoming homeless. Music alone stays with him forever.

Steve Lopez, played by Robert Downey Jr., who is a columnist from Los Angeles Times meets the soloist on the streets of Los Angeles and discovers the lost talent. Lopez, affected by his story, decides to help him be released from his life trap and return to the place he really belongs.

Erica Jong once wrote, “Everyone has talent, what is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads.” The viewer of this film will come away understanding that Nathaniel Ayers proves to be a man of courage.
