Unknown Woman
Directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, the Unknown Woman movie will be released in May. The movie has a rich cast and stars Xenia Rappoport, Michele Placido, Claudia Gerini, Alessandro Haber, Clara Dossena and Margherita Buy.
The Unknown Woman movie details the dramatic life of the main character Irena (Xenia Rappoport), who has moved to a Northern Italian city for unknown reasons. Irena lives in a world full of ghosts and memories from her past. However, later she becomes a servant in the Adachers’ family, who are in the goldsmith business. The Adachers have a small daughter, Tea, who suffers from a strange psychological disorder that prevents her from defending herself against harm and violence. Soon, Irena becomes the only close person to Tea.
M & C reports that after Irena gets hired in the Adachers’ family, she moves on to be close to finding the key to her past and future.
The film is suspenseful, but it doesn’t pander to suspense with simple riddles. The suspense is transferred to the creaking boards of an ancient crumbling room, the spidery branches of small, dead plants and the gurgling fountain mouths of horrific statues. Above all, the suspense is ratcheted up by the brilliant camera work of lenser Fabio Zamarion (landing the Italian David Award for this picture) and the exciting score of maestro Ennio Morricone.
According to IMDb, Irena’s past full of violence and prostitution confronts her again when she encounters her former pimp who she believed was dead.
Stopping at nothing to become the couple’s trusted maid and the beloved nanny to their fragile young daughter (Clara Dossena), Irena risks everything in her quest to uncover the truth about the family. Like an intricately constructed jigsaw puzzle, THE UNKNOWN WOMAN reveals piece by piece the enigma of Irena’s past.
Until the movie’s releases, here’s the trailer.
