Avatar Trilogy: Back To Pandora

Avatar Trilogy: Back To PandoraGood news for all Avatar fans. Your favorite epic movie will extend to a trilogy!

During his latest interview to MTV, James Cameron confirmed his intention to go on with his academy award winning movie.

It turns out that Cameron had this intention from the very beginning of the Avatar project. The draft of the trilogy is long ready on the director’s table. The script, however, is incomplete, and there is serious work to be done. Even some ideas that were born when directing the first film were reserved in order to use them in the sequel.

Now that Avatar proved to be such a success, Cameron is ready to carry the whole thing out.

The second film will be released in 2012 or 2013. Cameron says that they did a lot of pioneering work on the first film–that’s why it took them four years to complete it. The filmmaking technique was new to them and it made the work notably difficult.

Now most of the computer generated landscapes are ready, and the computer-generated characters are ready to work (during the first film it took nine months to move their facial musculature). So, the process of making a sequel to Avatar will be much easier and quicker.

Another secret concerning the sequel was revealed by Cameron during his interview with the LA Times. In the sequel, the ocean scenes will be dominating. Cameron is going to open a new “ocean” world within Pandora, and he promises that this world will be as wonderful, rich and interesting as the Pandora forests.

Some part of the story will possibly develop outside Pandora, on the Polyphemus planet (the major planet of the Alpha Centauri Solar System, visible in the sky of Pandora) and other planets within the ACA.

By the way, the Na’vi people and the main heroes will remain the same.
