Six Commercials Nominated For Emmy: Part 3

Six Commercials Nominated For Emmy: Part 3

In my opinion, the best commercial made for Audi has been the expression “Audi–Das Auto” (“The Car” in German). But this one, which is trying to pass itself off as a mini new action movie, is well made and very clever.

The concept of green cars and ecology is so typical of the company, that one couldn’t actually expect anything else. What can I say–it’s funny and it works. Someone who is keen on saving the world from ecological disasters will definitely decide upon the Audi A3 TDI next time he/she is buying a car.  The Green Police chasing down people who use plastics in their everyday life is witty, don’t you think so?

Nike, Nike, Nike, what did you want to tell us with this commercial? That someone numbers in the thousands when he wears Nike? This reminds me somehow of the movie “Asterix and Obelix.” Remember, when they drink the magic potion and multiply themselves? The suggestion that Nike is like a magic potion seems interesting, especially when you see a lot of Sharapovas.

The effects of the commercial are great, it’s beautiful and attractive, and really urges you to get a pair of athletic shoes to be able to do anything you want. This commercial is probably one of the closest to getting the Emmy.

“The man your man could smell like if the man your man were when he used this man–body wash for men who want to be men like the man you see when you look at the man on the screen…” Excuse me? The Man Your Man Could Smell Like from Old Spice sounds outstandingly funny, I should confess. Aimed mainly at women, this commercial for  Old Spice Body Wash is played simply around a handsome guy and couple of confusing sentences.

Only the sight of the guy made me actually laugh and this is a big plus even for all the top comedy movies, not to mention a commercial. This is definitely my favorite of the six, though it doesn’t have any profound messages to convey. It’s amusing and affective–just what you would expect from an Emmy award nominee.

Now that you have watched them and read my opinions, let me know what you think in the comments section. Which one do you like the most?
