Do you love period movies? Want to feed your hunger of emotions? Wait to see “The Beautiful and the Damned.”
“The Beautiful and the Damned” is a period drama set in another time. The film will star the talented and gorgeous actress Keira Knightley. It was written by Hanna Weg and will be directed by John Curran.
“The Beautiful and the Damned” reveals the secrets of a true love story of Jazz Age icons Zelda Sayre and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Production begins in March, and the film will be released in 2010. Though the title is taken from Fitzgerald’s novel the movie is totally different being biographical.
Surely many of us are familiar with Fitzgerald’s works but few of us know the story of his own love. Lift the thick veil and see the reality experimenting a portion of madness, passion, bitterness, jealousy and self-destructing love. “The Beautiful and the Damned” will be a romance movie about two magnetic poles repelling and at the same time attracting each other. Zelda Sayre and F. Scott Fitzgerald both were addicts: she was addicted to madness, he was addicted to alcohol and they both were addicted to each other. Their string of love ripped leaving tragic consequences on both of them: Zelda spending the rest of her life in psychiatric clinic and Fitzgerald in company with alcohol. They both used their personal life as material for their books.
Golden Globe, BAFTA and Academy Award-nominated British actress Keira Knightley will play Zelda Sayre, Fitzgerald’s wife who was unable to find her identity. Keira Knightley fits the genre perfectly, standing out from her contemporaries and staying loyal to her principles and predilections. No one can question her talent, her unique choice in films and strong female characters. “The Beautiful and the Damned” will complement the list of period drama movies staring Keira Knightley, her previous ones being “The Duchess,” “Atonement” and “Pride and Prejudice” all emotionally colored and enhanced. Keira Knightley is a luminescent star outshining and quenching the others due to her exceptional talent and fascinating appearance.
Don’t miss out the chance to watch a movie that will undoubtedly get its exceptional place in the history of cinematography.
