I was very glad when I came across the trailer for the next long-awaited James L. Brooks’ romantic comedy film “How Do You Know.”
After six years of silence (since “Spanglish,” 2004), Oscar winning writer and director James L. Brooks is coming back with a film formerly titled “Everything You’ve Got,” on which he’s been working since 2005!
The cast of the film is headed by talented and well-paid movie stars like Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Jack Nicholson and Owen Wilson.
Brooks is also the author of such popular films as “Spanglish,” “As Good As It Gets,” “Broadcast News” and “Terms of Endearment.” This makes me think that “How Do You Know” is going to be one of the best romantic comedy movies of the year.
This film is about a love triangle between a professional softball player Lisa Jorgenson (Reese Witherspoon), a corporate executive (Paul Rudd), and a slightly obnoxious big-league pitcher and playboy (Owen Wilson). Lisa meets with both of them and loves them both, but the situation becomes acute when she finds both of them in the same place…
The New York Times describes “How Do You Know” this way: “This movie tells a complicated, original story about people who might be funny enough, in their own troubled way, to remind Hollywood that it is O.K., occasionally, to buck the trends.”
This romantic comedy movie is going to be released in theaters on December 17.
