Made Of Honor Premiers This Week
Made of Honor, directed by Paul Weiland and written by Adam Sztykiel with Deborah Kaplan, premiers this week in the United States. The movie is a romantic comedy and stars Patrick Dempsey as Tom, Michelle Monaghan as Hannah, Kevin McKidd as Colin and Kadeem Hardison as Felix.
Made of Honor details the life of Tom Bailey who falls desperately in love with his close friend, Hannah. However, Tom fears commitment and refuses to propose to Hannah. As a result, Hannah meets a less procrastinating suitor, Colin, who proposes to her instead and she accepts. Colin and Hannah are getting married in front of Tom’s eyes, who has been asked to be the Maid of Honor for their wedding.
Rotten Tomatoes reports that by the time Tom resolves to propose Hannah to marry him, his plan is floored because Hannah has already become engaged to a handsome and wealthy Scotsman.
It’s the perfect setup until Hannah goes overseas to Scotland on a six-week business trip… and Tom is stunned to realize how empty his life is without her. He resolves that when she gets back, he’ll ask Hannah to marry him – but is floored when he learns that she has become engaged to a handsome and wealthy Scotsman and plans to move overseas. When Hannah asks Tom to be her “maid” of honor, he reluctantly agrees to fill the role… but only so he can attempt to woo Hannah and stop the wedding before it’s too late.
According to the New York Times, when Tom accepts to be the Maid of Honor for her best friend’s wedding, he does that with the hope to win her heart and to prove her undying love.
Patrick Dempsey stars in a romantic comedy that takes a look at love from the male perspective.
