“You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger” is one of the upcoming romantic comedy movies that is scheduled to hit the theaters on September 22.
On the May 15, the movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
The film is written and directed by the legendary Woody Allen, who wrote and directed some of the best comedy movies (“Annie Hall,” “Manhattan,” “The Purple Rose of Cairo,” “Husbands and Wives”). It is produced by Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum, Jaume Roures and is will be distributed by Sony Pictures Classics.
Famous actors starring in “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger” include Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins and Naomi Watts. Josh Brolin, Gemma Jones, Freida Pinto and Roger Ashton-Griffiths will also appear in the film.
I’m sure lovers of drama and romantic comedy movies will enjoy “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger.” The film tells the story of two married couples — Alfie (Hopkins) and Helena (Jones), and their daughter Sally (Watts) with her husband Roy (Brolin). Both couples face marital problems., and their ambitions and anxieties lead them into all sorts of troubles.
Alfie leaves Helena to feel the total freedom of life. He enjoys his time with a free-spirited call girl named Charmaine while Helena finds herself depressed, but soon starts a relationship with a widower, Jonathan (Ashton-Griffiths).
Meanwhile, Sally also faces a difficult period. She is unhappy in her marriage with her novelist husband Roy, and is getting more and more attracted to a handsome art gallery owner, Greg (Banderas). And Ray is falling for another woman, Dia (Pinto).
This messy story of complex characters trying to find their place in the world and solve their problems seems to be the makings of a classing Woody Allen film. But as to how the story ends… we’ll find that out in September.
