Blacksite: Area 51 is a game that was released on PC and next-generation consoles. As you might guess from the title it’s of the aliens vs humans sci-fi genre and a movie based on the same will hit cinemas in 2009. Although the game itself was not that successful, scoring just 60 percent in many reviews, producer Christine Peters is sure that it can still be a good movie.

However, there are already many films about aliens so the filmmakers are going to spend more time on producing special effects. Wired News reports what screen writer Grant Morrison say people can expect from the movie.

I tend to include the gamers as part of the masses, so I don’t think about more than one big audience. Gamers, like everyone else, would rather watch a good movie than a bad one, so my plan is to write a good one.

Like the game, it’s about a strange signal that is being caught in the secret base called Area 51. Then a crack group of marines are sent in to discover what causes that signal. Yes, you guessed it, they never realized what they would encounter even if we already can.
