‘Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince’ Release Delayed
It seems like most of the world’s population has already read all the seven books about Harry Potter and have seen the first five films shot on the first five books, and all of them are eagerly waiting for the next movie on the sixth book “Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince”.
The film had originally been scheduled for release on November 21, 2009, but Harry Potter fans will have to wait another 6 months, as the film won’t be hitting the screen until July 17, 2009. Warner Bros president and chief operating officer Alan Horn announced that this step does not mean that there are any problems concerning the shoot of the new film. Moreover, he added that the film is already thoroughly shot with the marvelous cast of actors.
“The picture is completely, absolutely, 100 per cent on schedule, on time. There were no delays,” Mr Horn said. “I’ve seen the movie. It is fabulous. We would have been perfectly able to have it out in November”.
The main cast has gone unchanged from the previous movie. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are still our favorite Hogwarts pupils - Harry, Ron and Hermione.
There is a two-part reason for delaying ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to summer. Warner Bros considers the summer season to be an ideal window for a family release. It was proved on the last Harry Potter film, which was released on July 11, 2007. The second reason is the recent writer’s strike.
“The release-date change does not alter the production schedule for this or future Harry Potter films,” Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group President Jeff Robinov said in a statement. “Post-production on ‘Half-Blood Prince’ was completed on time, and the studio’s release plans for the two-part ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ will not be affected by this change.”
The delay can also be considered as “good news” for Harry Potter fans, because this delay shortens the gap between the “Half-Blood Prince” and the first part of “Deathly Hallows.”
Dear Harry Potter loyal fans, don’t worry about your favourite film and cast. On the contrary, be encouraged, next year you will have the opportunity to see two more fantastic films with your favourite actors, and that is not the end, one more film will also be waiting for you.
